We have a Benq monitor set on its side. It is stuck with magnets to the side of the desk to stand it in portrait orientation. It’s one of those monitors without VESA mounts, so the included foot is the only way to attach it to anything.

Unfortunately, that leaves a big gap since the stand is holding the monitor about 10cm from the bottom (i.e. the desk side). It would be nice to have it as close to the side as possible.

Fortunately some creative grinding of the stand hinge and foot allows to turn it upside down hinge cut tabs hinge foot

Some magnets to stick weights to keep the monitor from falling forward weights

Now we can set it on the side with no protruding foot on the side weights

And it fits beautifully on the desk now weights

Now, to replace that PS4 box with some proper monitor stand…
